Note: this is not the crash i'm trying to hunt :(
timeless: is this crash reproducible on trunk? This bug is quite old, has no steps to reproduce and targets 1.7 which has been EOL'd. Windows 2000 you won't see much of either. On the other hand, the offending code is still in the trunk, moved down one line.

I didn't use windows 2000 at work when I was hunting for bugs, we used XP. At the time, we were working on trunk (1.8a5/1.8a6 iirc). And I certainly didn't use localized builds of the aviary branch. So, no, asking me about reproducability when I file a bug based on talkback is fairly pointless, sorry. Ask talkback, that's where the reports came from. That said, my belief is that a code bug is a code bug, tickled or not. This is probably still there.
Don't understand the branch blocking request for an old, unreproducible, essentially unowned bug. If someone makes progress with a trunk fix we can talk about the branch. Or even a testcase maybe
