Hi,

firefox bookmarks have a toggle flag to allow loading them in the side bar. 
That's great. I'd like to publish and update dedicated bookmark lists
(like the calendard tools allows to publish calendars) which look just like the
normal bookmark sidebar, i.e. it should be able to load a file from URL 
in the bookmarks file format with icons and folder structure. The Bookmark
managing windows should be able to edit such bookmark files.

Can you publish your lists using RSS? (as a work around).

Loading a URL into the sidebar is certainly possible with the Mozilla
suite

An editor for arbitary bookmark files may need to be developed
as a standalone project (like composer).

sorry for bugspam, long-overdue mass reassign of ancient QA contact bugs, filter on "beltznerLovesGoats" to get rid of this mass change
