User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; fr-FR; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041108 Firefox/1.0 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; fr-FR; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041108 Firefox/1.0 Firefox crashed when I clicked on a link on the Geckozone forum (http://www.geckozone.org/forum/). I was on a subject page (don't remember witch), I clicked on "Geckozone : Index du Forum" to come back to the Index and Firefox crashed. This site usually doesn't cause any trouble (and I'm very often on this forum). Reproducible: Couldn't Reproduce Steps to Reproduce: Hopefully not reproducible I don't know what happened or why, but I sent a talkback : TB3799305H I have many, many extensions (I can list them if it can help), and I use the theme QuteRetro. I don't know witch component to pick, so "General" seems to be good because it was on a web page display...

The extension Tidy seems to be faulty, please upgrade to latest extension version and report the crash to them: http://users.skynet.be/mgueury/mozilla/ msvcrt.dll + 0x37696 (0x77c17696) nstidy.dll + I'm using the very last version, the 0.5.3. I'll contact him.
- I tried to surf on http://www.geckozone.org/forum/ - Then choose : "Geckozone : Index du Forum" But I can not reproduce the issue you got. Due that it is not reproducible, please answers these questions: - what settings do you use in the extension ? - mostly what is the accessibility level: none, 1, 2, 3 - version of Firefox or Mozilla - Platform (XP?) Due to the stack trace, what has probably happened is that the page you received in the browser has crashed the browser in the tidy layer. If it was possible to get the error again, it would be probably very easy to solve. And I could send the fix to the tidy community too.

> - what settings do you use in the extension ? > - mostly what is the accessibility level: none, 1, 2, 3 HTML Validator is shown (Text + icons) in the status bar (this is probably why it crashed without showing the source code) It is activated in the source code, lines with errors are highlighted, warnings are shown and the accessibility level is "normal". > - version of Firefox or Mozilla Firefox 1.0 (fr-FR) > - Platform (XP?) Yes, windows XP SP2. I visit this forum every day, and it is the very first time I have a crash here. The link on whitch I clicked was absolutely usual, I call such links to index several times a day. I visited all pages I recently displayed, clicking each time on that link to index, but unfortunately it was impossible to reproduce it. Sorry.

I just had a new crash on the page http://www.geckozone.org/forum/viewtopic.php?p=134620#134620 I noted that it crashed exactly when I clicked on the link "Rapporter un site posant problème" at the bottom of the page. I have a talkback number TB4312464K but I don't know how to use it nor if tidy is faulty here. Accessibility level is still "Normal". The validation had been finished for a long time before it crashed, and it really crashed exactly on the click, the next page was probably still not loading. Unfortunately as for the last crash it is absolutely not reproducible, even if this time I know exactly on which page I was and on which link I clicked, I tried to reproduce on the same page and clicking on the same link but it didn't crashed.
Hi Xavier, Without beeing able to debug the problem, and due that my extension is not in the cvs of mozilla, I do not know where it crashes. But the stack trace of your new crash is the same one that your previous one. Since last time, I released a version 0.56 that you can find here: http://users.skynet.be/mgueury/mozilla/ It corrects 3 bugs that make Firefox crash: 1) when accessibility is enabled and that there is a empty PRE tag 2) when an argument is bigger than 128 char when calling the extension 3) when PHP for some reason give <? ?> in the HTML. It could be that you hit the problem 2 or 3. So, I would recommend to use the newer version. I do not know any left problem in the extension that yours. I hope that it is a duplicate of one of the above problem. Thanks by advance, Marc
mgueury@skynet.be: can you provide .pdb files for your nstidy.dll's? if you do and someone indicates which version of nstidy.dll they were using, i can see about figuring out which function it's crashing in. for my reference, TB7805641K matches this stack. jay: can you properly format the signature i just added so that talkback correctly recognizes it?

Is this bug still reproducable? Please upgrade to a newer version of Firefox, preferably a nightly testing build available at http://www.mozilla.org/developer and report back with your results. Thank you.

I'm going to resolve this bug as invalid, since it seems to be caused by an extension and since there hasn't been a reply from the reporter to comment 8. If you can reproduce this bug using Firefox 2.0.0.3 and with a new profile (no extensions), please file a new bug detailing it. http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_Manager
