User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (compatible; Konqueror/3.3; en_US) KHTML/3.3.2 (like Gecko)
Build Identifier: firefox-1.0-source.tar.bz2

A normal build of firefox-1.0-source.tar.bz2 links to ancient obsolete
libraries (glib 1.x, libIDL 0.6.x), even though the code is ready to run with
the newer (and more standard) versions glib 2.x and libIDL 0.8.x.

The problem is the configure script preferring the ancient stuff for no
visible reason. I'm attaching a patch to fix this (prefer the current stuff
and fall back to the legacy stuff if the current stuff doesn't exist).

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Remove legacy libraries (glib 1.x etc.) from your system
2. ./configure
3. make

Actual Results:
Numerous complains about a missing glib.h (even though glib 2.x is there and
provides the functions the firefox parts are using)

Expected Results:
Should have compiled

What .mozconfig did you use? I'm not quite sure if your patch is valid.
No .mozconfig... Downloaded the tarball and ./configure-d.

As for the patch's correctness, it works 100% at least on Linux; we're
applying it in the Ark Linux package and none of our users is complaining
about any problems w/ it.

This bug has had no comments for a long time. Statistically, we have found that
bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are
highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code.

While your input is very important to us, our resources are limited and so we
are asking for your help in focussing our efforts. If you can still reproduce
this problem in the latest version of the product (see below for how to obtain a
copy) or, for feature requests, if it's not present in the latest version and
you still believe we should implement it, please visit the URL of this bug
(given at the top of this mail) and add a comment to that effect, giving more
reproduction information if you have it.

If it is not a problem any longer, you need take no action. If this bug is not
changed in any way in the next two weeks, it will be automatically resolved.
