Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; it-IT; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041108 Firefox/1.0
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; it-IT; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041108 Firefox/1.0

On Thunderbird 1.0 I set up a Global Inbox folder to collect all messages from
my e-mail accounts.
I then set up Junk controls to move junk messages directly to Global Junk folder
and then I checked the control to automatically remove from Global Junk folder
all the messages older than 7 days. But Thunderbird doesn't run this operation
anytime.
It runs the operation only on single inbox folders (I have a single inbox folder
to collect messages from a specific mail account that don't go in the Global
Inbox folder).

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create a Global inbox folder

2. Set up the Junk mail controls to move junk mails directly to Global Junk
folder and check the control to remove junk mails from this folder after a
specific number of days
3. Download mail for that number of days + 1
4. Check in the Global Junk mail that Thunderbird didn't remove messages older
than the specified number od days

Actual Results:
I'll find all the junk messages, even if they are older than the number of days
specified in the Junk mail control
Summary: When set up a Global Inbox folder, Junk mail controls don't work automatically → Junk mail is not deleted automatically with Global Inbox
I got the same behaviour with the WinXP version 1.0 of Thunderbird.
Isn't this a duplicate of <a

junk mail not removed if received date is over the set "move after X days"
limit">Bug 227848</a>?

This bug has had no comments for a long time. Statistically, we have found that
bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are
highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code.

this problem in the latest version of the product (see below for how to obtain a
