User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-GB; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041110 Firefox/1.0
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-GB; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041110 Firefox/1.0
Firefox tries to use the .swf from the same directory, even if the html code
asks for it to be used from the root.
Case details:
There are 2 'menu.swf' files - one in the same directory and one in the root
directory.
The source reveals that a different 'menu.swf' to that displayed should be used.
http://www.aciddimensions.com/menu.swf
should be displayed but
http://www.aciddimensions.com/buggyff/menu.swf
is displayed instead.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. visit http://www.aciddimensions.com/buggyff/menu.htm
2. wrong .swf is displayed.
Actual Results:
The file at
http://www.aciddimensions.com/buggyff/menu.swf
is displayed.
Expected Results:
the file
http://www.aciddimensions.com/menu.swf
should have been shown
Clearing the cache, setting cache limit to 0kb, then waiting a few days failed
to solve the problem.
If the file is deleted and cache cleared, nothing appears at all, as below.
http://www.aciddimensions.com/buggyff2/menu.htm
Please look at your source code:
<object classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000"
codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=5,0,0,0"
width="300" height="1500" align="left">
<param name=movie value="http://www.aciddimensions.com/menu.swf">
<param name=quality value=high>
<embed src="menu.swf" quality=high
pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/shockwave/download/index.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFlash"
type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="300" height="1500" align="left">
</embed>
</object>
FF/Moz uses the embed src tag, which points to the menu.swf from the current
directory. Change that parameter and it should work.
Severity: major → normal

This is an automated message, with ID "auto-resolve01".
This bug has had no comments for a long time. Statistically, we have found that
bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are
highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code.
While your input is very important to us, our resources are limited and so we
are asking for your help in focussing our efforts. If you can still reproduce
this problem in the latest version of the product (see below for how to obtain a
copy) or, for feature requests, if it's not present in the latest version and
you still believe we should implement it, please visit the URL of this bug
(given at the top of this mail) and add a comment to that effect, giving more
reproduction information if you have it.
If it is not a problem any longer, you need take no action. If this bug is not
changed in any way in the next two weeks, it will be automatically resolved.
