User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.7.3) Gecko/20040910

The windows appear to be being rendered in 480 x 640 resolution even though I
have the system set for 600 x 800. Browser is ok but mail/news window and
address book are rendered way too big.

This is something that was there ever since I started using Netscape 7 and
carried over when I replaced it with Mozilla 1.7.3.

I thought it might have been because the integrated graphics controller on my
mobo was too limited and was ignoring resolution set commands from the e-mail
app. I insalled an AGP board (ATI Radeon 9250) but the problem is still there.

The overall rendering of the windows is way too big and it limits how much can
be displayed in the columns in the folder and message header panes. There is an
option where I can change the type size in the message text pane but that isn't
really where the problem is.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open the "mail and newsgroups" option from "WINDOW" on the menu bar.
2.
3.

Actual Results:
The mail/newsgroups window opens sized as if the resolution had been changed to
480x640. The browser is fine. It is only in the mail/newsgroups window.

Things are so oversize in the address book that when adding a new card, the
buttons at the bottom of the window are hidden below the bottom of the screen.
The system thinks that it is all on screen and doesn't put scrollbars on the
window to permit maneuvering.

Expected Results:
It should be displaying the mail and newsgroups window much smaller.

bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are
highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code.
