Details 
When opening a PDF document via window.open, the status text of the new window
doesn't get updated.
Attached file test case — 
place this file on a http site (not sure if it will work via file).  Also copy
a pdf file next to this html file and name the pdf "somedoc.pdf".
actually -- this testcase does NOT work when using the local file system.
