Both the Firefox product page and the mozilla.org main page are missing any reference at all to the current version # (1.0.1) of Firefox. This regressed from the initial pages pushed with 1.0.1 today with a checkin at 2005-02-24 23:17 and 2005-02-25 00:55. It makes it rather difficult for end-users to determine a new version has been released, if its not shown on the pages. End-users aren't afraid of version #s by any means. Considering the pages involved are well-maintained, and were, until the regression, using variables for the version #. I don't understand why this information was removed. "Download Firefox with the latest security and stability updates." simply doesn't suggest a new version and lacks the indication of the version. Paricularly considering the Store block on the page refers to Firefox 1.0 :-) Instead, it should clearly state the version #, so end-users know, without any sense of ambiguity or vaguery, what version is current, (and therefore, they'll know if they need to upgrade.)

Reassigning to cbeard, who changed the status of this bug to assigned, and accidentally forgot to reassign it to himself first. :-) cbeard, any update?
