this bug is to track the migration of the default news server in 4.x

right now, it doesn't look like we'll be doing this.

Alec, do we have support for this?

Is there anything that would use this besides the Newsgroup task menu item which
is currently disabled?

Also, if you write a message to a newsgroup and you don't have a newsgroup
selected, how does it know what server to send it to?

no, no support yet. I have a post-beta2 plan for how to handle this though.

For the record:  win32 2000-08-04-05-m17 / nsbeta2 build.  I have two news 
servers, news.mozilla.org and news.  I was able to post to newsgroups on both 
servers (netscape.test and mcom.test respectively) from within my Inbox by just 
typing the newsgroup name in the compose window's addressing fields.  And, my 
accounts are migrated.

->WONTFIX since 4.x migation has been dropped on trunk. 

If one has an overwhelming need to see this fixed on branch, please attach a patch and reopen the bug.  Also, evaluate whether the issue is a bug or an enhancement request and adjust severity accordingly.
filter bugmail for "4.xmidrop" to delete these messages.
