Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1) Build Identifier: It is difficult to reply to an e-mail that contains long lines. When the original message is quoted, the lines are not wrapped in the composition window. This means that one has to scroll horizontally backward and forward to read the original text and insert a reply. It also makes it difficult to insert replies at several different places in what was a single long line in the original e-mail. (Basically, what I am asking for here is the "wrap long lines" feature in Pegasus. When switching from Pegasus to TB, the lack of this feature was a major surprise; replying to e-mails with long lines really is a pain in TB.) Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Configured to create plain text replies and wrap at 72 columns. 2. Reply to an e-mail containing a very long line. 3. Actual Results: The quoted reply extends far beyond the right hand side of the composition window, forcing one to scroll horizontally to read the text, and then to scroll back to insert one's reply. Expected Results: It should wrap the text in the composition window before quoting it. (Probably, this should be a user-settable option, although I can't imagine why anyone would ever want TB to behave the way it does now instead of wrapping the long lines.)
The text can be wrapped by selecting Edit | Rewrap in the compose window after starting the reply. You can also select blocks of text for rewrapping, but there are some glitches with this -- see bug 187997. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 196033 ***
