This is an automated message, with ID "auto-resolve01". This bug has had no comments for a long time. Statistically, we have found that bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code. While your input is very important to us, our resources are limited and so we are asking for your help in focussing our efforts. If you can still reproduce this problem in the latest version of the product (see below for how to obtain a copy) or, for feature requests, if it's not present in the latest version and you still believe we should implement it, please visit the URL of this bug (given at the top of this mail) and add a comment to that effect, giving more reproduction information if you have it. If it is not a problem any longer, you need take no action. If this bug is not changed in any way in the next two weeks, it will be automatically resolved. Thank you for your help in this matter. I have a very similar problem. In my Inbox, most mails have no subject nor body, but they appear with their right subject in the list above. The new mails received are ok. And only one old mail in the Inbox is ok, it is a mail from 20/05/2005 (the oldest in my Inbox). The next mail (from 25/08/2005) is not ok. Problem reproduces when I quit and restart Thunderbird. My Thunderbird version is : version 1.0 (20041206) Might be related to 2 antivirus scans I did this morning, but it seems the problem appeared after the scans ended. Thanks for your help Thomas (In reply to comment #4) > This is an automated message, with ID "auto-resolve01". > This bug has had no comments for a long time. I also have this problem - as of this morning, the only messages I can read are those from today and yesterday (10/01/06) before that the messages are just blank! Please help, I need my emails back. :( I'm using Thunderbird version 1.0.6 (20050716).
This started happening to me a few weeks ago. I've downloaded the newest version and done everything to try and make it go away and it still persists. I detest OE and Eudora is annoying. Please fix this so I can start using Thunderbird again. Jay
However, other emails that were stored in sub-directories seem fine, as do some subsequent emails.

A couple of days ago I got a "notice" (popped up while I was working in Thunderbird) that there was an update available for Thunderbird. I went ahead and accepted the invitation to have it automatically install. (Pulling down "Help/About" tells me I'm at version 1.5.0.12.) I had several hundred e-mails still sitting in my In Box before the update, and afterwards, it appears that all but about 40 (some with "old" dates (i.e., several months ago) and some with very "current" dates) disappeared; everything "in between" disappeared! Then, when I opened Thunderbird this a.m., I found that the In Box (which had about 35 e-mails in it when I exited last evening) was completely empty! For information, my e-mail address is an earthlink account, so I'm using the Thunderbird client to fetch my earthlink e-mail. My questions: (1) Has anyone else experienced the "unexpectedly empty In Box" problem? I notice at the website that there's a Thunderbird V2 available. Will it solve the problem? Did somebody spoof me with the "update" so that they could intercept or otherwise pirate my In Box? (2) Will installing V2 fix this sort of thing? Is there any way to recover the "missing" e-mails? (3) Does T'bird have any sort of "history" interacting with earthlink?
