Build Identifier: version 1.0 (20041206)
Recently, I realized that Thunderbird (1.0, WinXP) displays postings of some
people in a slightly larger font.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. subscribe to netscape.public.mozilla.mail-news
2. take a look at all messages in that group from the 2005-02-12 that start a
new thread
3. The message "8-bit Subject: encoding in Thunderbird." is displayed in a
slightly larger font than the other postings. (look at the o's to see the difference
Actual Results:
some postings are displayed in a slightly larger font
Expected Results:
all postings should be displayed exactly the same way

This is probably because that particular posting was written using a charset in
a language group other than the normal, Western group that you typically see
messages in. TB, like all Mozilla products, specifies different fonts for
different language groups, so that you can specify a font with good Chinese
support separately from the one you use for Western, or Cyrillic, or Greek.
The fonts used for Chinese or Japanese default to a slightly larger size.
If you want, you can go thru all the language groups in the Font settings and
point everything to the same set of fonts, with the same sizes.
