I liked Opera's ability to open a set of Tabs at program activation.  I
typically use the same 4 or 5 sites, and that saved me much time.

why Do you don't save the set of tabs as bookmark ?

You can also set a group of tabs as your homepage. Just open all the tabs you
want, then go to Tools->Options->General and click "Use current pages".
