User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0 Have Firefox open. Select File / Save Page As Now open ANOTHER instance of Firefox (I click on Firefox in my quicklaunch menu) type in google.com and hit return Notice that nothing is happening - google.com has not loaded Now go to the previous instance of Firefox and press Cancel (or Save). By the time you get back to the other Firefix, google.com has loaded I'm not expecting that Actions in one instance of Firefox are going to stall out my other Firefox instances. This is an automated message, with ID "auto-resolve01". This bug has had no comments for a long time. Statistically, we have found that bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code. While your input is very important to us, our resources are limited and so we are asking for your help in focussing our efforts. If you can still reproduce this problem in the latest version of the product (see below for how to obtain a copy) or, for feature requests, if it's not present in the latest version and you still believe we should implement it, please visit the URL of this bug (given at the top of this mail) and add a comment to that effect, giving more reproduction information if you have it. If it is not a problem any longer, you need take no action. If this bug is not changed in any way in the next two weeks, it will be automatically resolved. Thank you for your help in this matter. The behvaiour originally reported is still happening. I now have google set as my startup page. So when I go to the quicklaunch menu to start FF, I don't see anything. However, if I do an alt+tab, I'll see that there is one more instance of FF. If I select the first instance (say by doing alt+tab, keeping the alt key pressed down, and then alt+shift+tab then releasing all) I will still see that instance when I press alt+tab again. If, however, I select another instance of FF, that first one disappears from the alt+tab sequence. But, as before, if I press cancel within the Save As dialog, the newly started FF pops right up. This was tested on Win XP Pro with Deer Park Alpha 2 downloaded this evening (Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9a1) Gecko/20051007 Firefox/1.6a1). Csaba Gabor from Vienna

There's actaully only 1 Firefox process - all the windows belong to that one.

all firefox windows freeze meanwhile saving web pages for offline browsing. I have ranted and whinning for this since firefox 1... ...too bad firefox 2 has not fixed it. I have found this annoying bug in any machine I have used. (all on Win XP). This block use of firefox, then is a blocker level bug, not a normal. I hate using Iexplore, but this leave no choice, since Internet time is not cheap nor free. Internet explorer allows the user for simultaneously saving pages (many in paralell), meanwhile the users continue to navigating.

maybe is the same bug number 303268, because I download web pages in public places to my USB pendrive.

What is preventing the user from simply navigating to the multiple pages and then saving each one individually, one at a time? Why are multiple Save As windows needed simultaneously?

The problem is that each time that a page is saved to disk (I save to USB pen drives) all firefox windows hang until the page is saved. I open in cibercafes -public places- many firefox windows or tabs, and save all pages to pendrives. After, I read the pages on my home. is common that the saving takes 30 seconds to one minute, and meanwhile I can`t acces firefox windows. This forces me to use Internet Explorer instead of firefox. -------------------- "What is preventing the user from simply navigating to the multiple pages and then saving each one individually, one at a time?
