Hi here,

When trying to install a new theme for Thunderbird by hitting install on the
site it tries to install itself on Firefox Themes instead of Thunderbird and of
course it fails.

Expected Results:  
tries to install itself on Firefox

As far as I know, there is no way to install thunderbird theme from firefox
directly. You might save the theme file into disk and use theme manager to
install it.

I have the same problem. When I try to download a new theme for Thunderbird it
tries to download into the Foxfire Theme Manager.

you need to download the theme to your hard drive, and install it using the
built in thunderbird install tools.  There is no way to single click install
themes for thunderbird from a website.
