Anti-virus tag shows up faint and all text after it (for example, in a digest of
msgs.) is faint. Hex-editing the INDEX file shows no hidden codes. Only oddity
is that there is a space chr. (20h) after the double dash. Saving msg. as text
file, then dropping that file onto Mozilla browser shows normal text. Changing
extension to .eml and then dropping the file again onto Mozilla browser shows
the faint text. Even copying the all the text into Notepad, saving as .txt, then
renaming to .eml produces same problem.

No virus found in this outgoing message.
Checked by AVG Anti-Virus.
Version: 7.0.300 / Virus Database: 266.5.0 - Release Date: 2/25/2005

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Receive a message with the AVG Anti-Virus tag
2. Look at tag
3.

Actual Results:
Text is faint.

Expected Results:
Display normal text.

Behavior does not occur when I open the message in Outlook Express, which I do
not use except to check something like this.
The odds are that by design text following the trigraph '-- ' is displayed
faint intentionally.

Is this what you are seeing?
This is by design, as indicated in comment 1. Signature text is shown "faint".

See bug 54570.
