User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.6) Gecko/20050223 Firefox/1.0.1 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8B2) Gecko/20050226 Firefox/1.0+ The "firefox.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close" window comes up on navigation to this page if javascript is enabled; it comes up fine if disabled. This problem is 100% reproducible on one of my XP computers, but never happens on the other. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Navigate to http://www.news12.com/CT 2. 3. Actual Results: The "firefox.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close" window comes up Expected Results: Displayed the page without crashing Happens regardless of what theme is installed. The affected computer is quite new and generally without problems, although I do have to run with Norton Internet Security disabled on it or no browser will work; haven't figured out why yet.

Do you have any extensions installed? Which? Also try with a new, clean profile.

And more importantly, could you provide a Talkback ID?

Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.8b2) Gecko/20050227 Firefox/1.0 No crash for me; but I did get this message when I closed the window containing your URL. (I have javascript enabled in the new preferences dialogue, including common annoyances). Error: uncaught exception: [Exception... "Component returned failure code: 0x80004005 (NS_ERROR_FAILURE) [nsIObserverService.removeObserver]" nsresult: "0x80004005 (NS_ERROR_FAILURE)" location: "JS frame :: chrome://global/content/bindings/browser.xml :: destroy :: line 578" data: no]

I checked that the bug was still there; yes. I had Ad Block extension, and had not tried default theme. I removed Ad Block and used default theme, and the bug went away. I restored a custom theme; still no bug. I conclude Ad Block had something to do with it. I don't have Talkback; I will install it if I have any further troubles. Thanks!

This might be related to bug 274425. Talkback is at least included in the zipped builds of the latest nightlies: http://ftp.uni-erlangen.de/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/nightly/latest-trunk/firefox-1.0+.en-US.win32.zip So if you would try it out with that build, that would be nice.
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8b2) Gecko/20050405 Firefox/1.0+ WFM, and I believe it was concluded that this was due to an extension causing problems. I am going to mark this WFM, re-open if you can reproduce in latest builds with a clean profile, etc.
