I did not see this problem when upgrading from Firefox 1.0.1 pl-PL to 1.0.2. My
steps:

1. Install 1.0.1
2. Create new profile "101plPL"
3. Start 1.0.1
4. Tools->Options->Advanced->Updates
5. Got 1.0.2 update notification
6. Ran 1.0.2 update (downloaded 1.0.2 installer, ran it, shutdown 1.0.1,
installed 1.0.2)
7. Ran 1.0.2 with "101plPL"

Makryba: Have you tried reproducing this with a fresh profile? Do you have any
extensions installed? Also, can you check something for me:

1. Goto about:config (enter that in the url bar)
2. Filter for "app.update.url"
3. The url should be "https://update.mozilla.org/update/firefox/pl-PL.rdf"

Is that what you are seeing?

it seems that after upgrading to 1.0.2 (and newer) the problem is gone
