The bookmark sidebar only resizes so far. I want to make it smaller but it stops
at about 1.5 inches thick. With Internet Explorer, the bookmark sidebar window
can be resized almost all the way to the edge of the window. Is there a secret
to making it smaller with Firefox?

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.I hit the bookmark button and bookmarks appear on the sidebar
2.The bookmark window will not resize small enough.
3.
This behavior (I seem to recall) was a conscious UI decision, since anything
smaller makes the sidebar essentially unusable.

Note there is an existing enhancement request for 'auto-hiding' sidebars (see
bug 260073), which may cover off most of your concerns.

In any event, I don't see this as a severity of "major". The current
implementation works (just not the way you'd like it to work), so the best
severity value for this would be 'enhancement'
Summary: The bookmark sidebar only resizes so far. → The bookmark sidebar only resizes so far.
This is by design. Any smaller than 150px gets unusable on normal font sizes.
