There is no Firefox 1.8b. Do you mean Mozilla Suite 1.8b or a Firefox trunk
build? Which was the old version? Mozilla Suite and Firefox don't share the
profiles.

I've had no problems with my bookmarks with 1.8b1 and various 1.8b2 nightly
builds on Win2k or XP.

Reporter, did you delete your profile folder? (this would delete your bookmarks)
Have you seen this problem with a more recent build?
