People

(Reporter: mozilla_bugzilla, Assigned: bugs)

Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7) Gecko/20040808 Firefox/0.9.3
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7) Gecko/20040808 Firefox/0.9.3

It seems impossible to install system-wide (i.e. for all users) extensions

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install an extension as root

Actual Results:
it goes under /root/.mozilla/firefox/default.xxx/extensions

Expected Results:
it goes under /opt/firefox-1.0.1/extensions (or anywhere firefox is installed)
Reporter - did you use the -install-global-extension command line switch as
described here http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/releases/#troubleshooting
and elsewhere? Also, bug 250847 may be of interest since the ua you reported
with is Firefox 0.9.3
Resolving as dup of bug 284669 since the reporter provided more detail in that bug .
