You have to create a user.js as a textfile...
-> invalid (need to enable the subfolders for checking mail)

Furthermore this is not a solution. If I get an IMAP account with 50 folders I
dop not want to enable them one at a time.
This is an automated message, with ID "auto-resolve01".

This bug has had no comments for a long time. Statistically, we have found that
bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are
highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code.

While your input is very important to us, our resources are limited and so we
are asking for your help in focussing our efforts. If you can still reproduce
this problem in the latest version of the product (see below for how to obtain a
copy) or, for feature requests, if it's not present in the latest version and
you still believe we should implement it, please visit the URL of this bug
(given at the top of this mail) and add a comment to that effect, giving more
reproduction information if you have it.

If it is not a problem any longer, you need take no action. If this bug is not
changed in any way in the next two weeks, it will be automatically resolved.
Thank you for your help in this matter.

I asked for a friendly UI to configure this ?

Is this not possible ?

Do you want ThunderBird to be for an "elite" ?

Hello!

I know that you're very busy, but still I would like to notify you that there are others, too, who are interested in a more user-friendly way to configure the new-mail-check of ALL folders.

BTW: Why not provide a generic configuration UI like the about:config in firefox? That's of course not as user-friendly as an entry in "Edit / Account Settings", but it would be definitely better than manually creating a file. And being generic, it's a one-fits-all approach and therefore a very good compromise.

Best regards, Marco :-)
Possible dupe of bug #289208.
Yes this is what I'm asking for but the way seems long ....

Does not look like something Aunt Martha would find easily but anyway it is still godd to have an answer to this after so many years.
