From Bug Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/4.7 [en] (X11; I; Linux 2.2.14-15mdk i686) BuildID: 2000021715 This page requires registration and propts for userid & passwd. Mozilla does not pass the userid & passwd info properly, and access to the site is denied. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Register at quotes.freerealtime.com 2.go to the site 3.enter your id & passwd. The will not be accepted.
I assume you mean: there is nothign shown in the password field when you type your password (should show asterisks), and if you click OK, you just get another password dialog. Then this is a duplicate of 24318. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 24318 ***

This was not a duplicate of 24318. The password dialog allows you to type a user name and password but a valid user name and password do not let you in the site. Entering a user name and password and hitting OK prompts you for user name and password agin. Re-opening with comments from newer duplicate: roberts@tsasa.lanl.gov said: This page requires the user to be registered, and prompts for the user id and password. Mozilla does not correctly accept the password at the prompt, and the freerealtime page refuses to allow the user to log in. This bug was reported previously, and reported as resolved. As of nightly build 3/5/2000, the bug still exists. --Doug roberts@tsasa.lanl.gov

more from the reporter: Steps to recreate the problem: 1. Go to http://quotes.freerealtime.com/frontpage/ and follow the steps to register to use the site (it's free). 2. Enter a stock symbol in the real time quotes window. A userid & password prompt window will poip up. 3. Enter your user id. 4. Try to enter your password. Normally (with Netscape 4.72), the password is shadowed with '*''s, but the Mozilla popup does not show them. This indicates that the popup is not receiving the typed input. ***NEW INFO, as of the 3/5/2000 build:**** Entering a user name and password and hitting OK prompts you for user + name and password again. The second time, userid and password are accepted.
