When running thunderbird(head) for the first time it creates a ~/.thunderbird
directory with no subdirectory for 'chrome'.  I had to create my own so I could
use my usual userChrome.css file to enlarge the font size.

This whole userChrome mechanism seems a bit hackish -- shouldn't the font size
for the UI be moved to the preferences menu anyway?
