User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; de-DE; rv:1.7.6) Gecko/20050226 Firefox/1.0.1 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; de-DE; rv:1.7.6) Gecko/20050226 Firefox/1.0.1 The Wikipedia search plugin included in de-DE.xpi in Firefox 1.0.1 has a number of problems, including the following: The queryCharset is specified as ISO-8859-1, but the German Wikipedia has used UTF-8 for several months, at least. This means that queries including ä, ë, ß, etc. will always fail. The SRC file is encoded as UTF-8, but read as x-mac-roman. Firefox doesn't use the description, though, so this doesn't matter. The update URL is http://update.mozilla.org/, so German Firefox installations will generate unnecessary traffic to the update site; and the buggy plugin can't be updated until the next Firefox version. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: Install the German version of Firefox. Change the selected search plugin to Wikipedia (DE). Search for März, for example. Actual Results: No results are found. Expected Results: Loaded http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/M%C3%A4rz.
