Details
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0 Build Identifier: http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/thunderbird/nightly/latest-trunk/thunderbird-i686-linux-gtk2+xft.tar.gz (3-March-2005) When composing a plain text message, multiple (>= 2) spaces at a line break are absorbed and the next line begins in column zero. In the mail that is actually sent, extra spaces are inserted at the start of the next line, creating undesirable indentation. The outgoing message should be wrapped identically to what is shown in the composition window. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. configure column wrapping at 72 characters 2. compose a new plain text message 3. enter this text in the message body: "This is a long1 long2 long3 long4 long5 long6 long7 long8 long9 long10 long11 line" 4. insert a few extra spaces between "long10" and "long11" 5. send the message Actual Results: In the message composition window, "long11" appears at the start of the second line. In the mail that actualy goes out, "long11" is indented by several spaces. Expected Results: The composition window and outgoing mail should be wrapped identically. Probably the current behavior of the composition window is preferable.

This is an automated message, with ID "auto-resolve01". This bug has had no comments for a long time. Statistically, we have found that bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code. While your input is very important to us, our resources are limited and so we are asking for your help in focussing our efforts. If you can still reproduce this problem in the latest version of the product (see below for how to obtain a copy) or, for feature requests, if it's not present in the latest version and you still believe we should implement it, please visit the URL of this bug (given at the top of this mail) and add a comment to that effect, giving more reproduction information if you have it. If it is not a problem any longer, you need take no action. If this bug is not changed in any way in the next two weeks, it will be automatically resolved. Thank you for your help in this matter. This bug still exists in 1.5 beta 1 (20050908). Note that if you follow the steps to reproduce I posted previously, you must view the outoing message in some other mail client to see the misformatting, since Firefox reflows the text when displaying the sent message.
