Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041217

juno won't accept outgoing mail using mozilla, recieves mail perfectly,
using juno 4.0, mozilla 5.0, windows xp home, celeron 2.66, dial up with 40k or
greater connection common,

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.compose
2.attempt to send
3.

Actual Results:
fail message appears, "connecting to smtp server,mail.juno.com failed.
the server may be unavailable or is refusing smtp connections." This may be a juno
issue, due to them not accepting mail that doesn't use their protocol??

Expected Results:
send mail

I am not an expert and may simply not know how to set up the mail account
properly. It does not effect my normal juno mail function in any way.

i think your outgoing server should be smtp.juno.com
Try that.
No reply - resolving as invalid.
mail.juno.com is an alias for pop.juno.com and rejects connections to port 25.
smtp.juno.com com answers, however.

Reporter - To set up the SMTP server:
While in mail, click "Edit->Mail and Newsgroups Account Settings"
The last item in the left pane is "Outgoing Server (SMTP)"
Click that, fill in the correct servername, click OK.

Reporter mailed that this still doesn't work.

Reporter: Does it work with other mail clients? Outlook express, for instance?
Seems several juno users have problems with this, regardless of client.
One hint is to use the full email address as username for the server setup,
not only the name before the @
