Please provide more specific information. Simply stating "it didn't" work doesn't help. Tell us what was the exact error message Firefox gave you and what do you mean with "unable to reboot anything". Are you able to start Firefox or Mozilla Suite after rebooting system? Any ideas what other programs/configuration might be causing this?

Nancy, can you locate and delete your Firefox directory, probably in C:\Program Files\ and then reinstall 1.0 <http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/1.0/win32/en-US/Firefox%20Setup%201.0.exe> and then try the update again and report back here?
