User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041217 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041217 When I select the link to logon to Bugzilla for Mozilla.org (or any other secure Web site), excessive resources are required in order to launch the dialogue for inputting my master password. Kernal usage: 100% Unused physical memory: 0 Swapfile in use: 150 MB (was 47 MB) Further, my hard drive becomes very busy (writing or reading the swapfile?). This causes my PC to freeze for about 30 seconds. Reproducible: Always
Isn't this a problem with Win98 and any Application? If so the workaround may be to use the "Unbreak my PC" setting that says not to erase and recreate swapfiles.

If this does help your problem, perhaps you could report back.

I am sorry that your 'other problems' were made worse. Was the one that you reported: "my hard drive becomes very busy (writing or reading the swapfile?). This causes my PC to freeze for about 30 seconds. " helped or otherwise. If you are able to tie this down to a defect in Firefox then it will be investigated and fixed.
Re comment #3: This is the kind of response I would expect from Micro$oft -- deny any responsibility and cast blame on some other company's product.
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.7.6) Gecko/20050319 This is still a problem. I just encountered it at <URL:http://finance.yahoo.com/p?v&k=pf_1>, which redirected to <URL:http://login.yahoo.com/?.src=quote&.intl=us&.mesg=You%20have%20requested%20a%20portfolio%20that%20requires%20a%20Yahoo!%20ID%20and%20a%20password.%20Please%20sign%20in.&.done=http://finance.yahoo.com%2fp%3fv%26k%3dpf_1> for loggin in. I had just booted from a cold shut-down and started Mozilla.
