RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 174943

(Reporter: eyalroz1, Unassigned)

Details

When a collapsed folder in the folder tree is selected, the 'mark all read'
command should mark all messages in both the folder itself _and_the_subfolders_
(in the collapsed tree) as read. Otherwise you have to expand the tree, 'mark
all read' in each subfolder and collapse again.

This bug may be related to / dupe of bug 174943, but I'm not sure I understand
what the reporter there is describing as a 'collection' of folders.

I think bug 65263 is about making the behavior of the mark button similar to
that of the menu command; I'm talking about what the menu command does.

Which product/version were you using ?

Can you reproduce with SeaMonkey v1.1.9 ?
Can you reproduce with SeaMonkey v2.0a1pre ?
I was using trunk, and it's the same now - it's a misfeature more than a bug, so no problem reproducing. Just create a subfolder of a folder, put an unread message in the subfolder, collapse the folder and do Message | Mark | All Read.

[Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.9pre) Gecko/2008061802 SeaMonkey/2.0a1pre] (nightly) (W2Ksp4)

I can reproduce, per comment 4 steps.
The sub-folder being collapsed or expanded makes no difference.
