I've recieved a scam email claiming to be from a bank asking me to fill in a
page with my bank details on a webpage linked to in the email. However - most
of the text in the email is actualy an image, but thunderbird doesn't notice, it
displays the image without offering to block it. If you'd like a copy of the
email send me an email at mazz0@sienterprises.co.uk and I can send you it.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Click the email in the list of mails
2.
3.

Actual Results:
The image shows

Expected Results:
The image shouldn't show, and there should be a button to show images in the mail
The "block images" option is actually called "block *remote* images" -- that
means that images are not loaded from a remote server when the message is
opened. The purpose of the option is *not* to suppress image display, but to
suppress accesses to remote server thru which your having read the message could
be tracked.
