The problem is also visible on the mozilla.org site in the "Developers" graphic there, but it appears more subtle. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open Firefox 1.0.1 2. Open that GIF Actual Results: The GIF displays, but with errors. Expected Results: Displayed without errors. =)

Dup has screen shot. Looks like the problems from before Quartz image. Reporter, are your colors set to Thousands or Millions?
Here's a screenshot. The firefox window is behind the safari window; I dragged the URL from firefox to safari, and it politely opened the GIF - and shows it correctly. Now, I happen to think safari's UI stinks like hot summer garbage, but this really is a problem with firefox and GIFs. To answer L.H.'s question, my G3 iBook is set to "Thousands" of colors.
In trunk of nightly build, because bug245407 (bug239701) did Fix, drawing of the image is improved. But it is not reflected in Branch Build.
So dup of bug 239701?

jrose, can you download a recent Firefox trunk build and try to reproduce using it instead? http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/nightly/latest-trunk/firefox-1.0+.en-US.mac.dmg This is probably a duplicate of 239701 which has been fixed in trunk.

The nightly build has fixed this problem with my .gif. As it turns out, I filed a duplicate of this bug report without knowing it. Better searching next time! Thanks, Blake. Best.

Resolving as WORKSFORME. It's been fixed in the trunk. The fix should be in 1.0.2 avairy as well.
