User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7.6) Gecko/20050304 Firefox/1.0.1 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7.6) Gecko/20050304 Firefox/1.0.1 Bookmark folders have an "Open in Tabs" option. When clicked, it loads each bookmark of the bookmark folder into the existing window. To be consistent with behaviors of other bookmarks, it should open each bookmark of the bookmark folder into a new window if shift clicked. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open a bookmark folder 2. Hold shift and click "Open in Tabs" 3. Actual Results: Bookmark folder menu disappeared with no other effect Expected Results: New window opens with a tab for each bookmark in the bookmark folder.
I'd very much like to open in tabs in a new window, perhaps by default based on a preference like (or next to) the one for opening received URLs in a new window. But shift-clicking seems like a good solution too -- shift clicking links to get new windows makes me very happy.
This is WFM in Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8b4) Gecko/20050908 Firefox/1.4. Does it now work on Linux?

I was able to replicate this bug using Firefox on a Win XP Pro (Service Pack 2) system. Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.0.1) Gecko/20060124 Firefox/1.5.0.1 This function also alters the users’ current web location. This may seem like a minor bug. However the loss of the current page displayed is not expected. A user could be filling out a critical online form and make the mistake of using this function ‘causing the loss of data. Indeed, it is expected that holding shift while clicking ‘open in tabs’ should open the tabs in a new window and not alter the user’s current location. Similarly, holding shift and selecting a link opens the link in a different tab without altering the current one.
I have seen this bug in various builds of 1.5 and 1.8, but it does not replicate in Deer Park (1.6a1). In Deer Park, when I shift-click on Open in Tabs, with 20 bookmarks in the menu, it opens 20 tabs.
