User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; de-AT; rv:1.8b) Gecko/20050217 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; de-AT; rv:1.8b) Gecko/20050217 If I want to connect the internet I need a proxy authentication. I fill in my username and my password and the check box to remember the account data. Whe I start the browser the next time and the next use of an intern et connection all the fields are empty. Within the password manager I can see the account and the password too. Reproducible: Always

The problem occurs in version 1.8b1 and in all 1.8a versions. It is working properly in 1.7x.

Any chance of narrowing the regression window further using builds from http://archive.mozilla.org/ ?

(In reply to comment #3) > Peter: do you see this problem if you start with a clean profile? > mozilla -profilemanager I tried it with a new profile - it is still there. Next time I start Mozilla and want to connect the internet the password managers window is empty. When I open the password manager to manage stored passwords that the message our proxy server sends is incomplete. It should be: proxy:81(--Nutzung nur für dienstliche Zwecke !--) [userid] It is: proxy:81(--Nutzung The rest isn't there. Maybe it will not stored correctly!?

This is an edge-case and might be annoying there but not it does not block testing even there, so an early testing release like SeaMonkey 1.0 Alpha doesn't get blocked by it. Additionally, we need further investigation to know what's happening there and I see noone working on that right now.

Peter, SeaMonkey v1.0.x is not supported anymore. Can you reproduce with SeaMonkey v1.1.9 ?

Could you test and answer comment 2 question ? Can you reproduce with SeaMonkey v2.0a1pre ? Which proxy (software) are you using ?

Able to reproduce the issue with an ISA 2005 proxy server. Brower version: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10.5; en-US; rv:1.9.0.4) Gecko/2008102920 Firefox/3.0.4 Not only does the browser not remember the user/pass, but a hidden authentication box without a "save password" option appears under the browser window. It is only detectable by entering expose mode on Mac. This makes FF unusable.

I run Firefox 3.5.2 against proxy with password authentication. I like to save my tabs when close browser. The problem manifest itself when I start the browser again. Each tab is requesting password authentication and even though I provide the data for 1st pop up, it keeps asking the same data over and over again for each consequent tab. It is very frustrating experience, or "grain of salt" for great product.
