NOT doing this cause system to hang when returning to yahoo.games Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.play yahoo.games 2.return to different game 3.system hangs - must completely shutdown firefox - start again Actual Results: most of the time - problem is remedied. However, Jave "cup" should unload from upper memory on its own - each time firefox is shut down, Expected Results: at least it seems appropriate that it should unload from upper memory on its own w/o using task mgr. hope an easy remedy is available ty

Java is very different from Javascript and the Javascript Console is only for displaying Javascript Errors. And please always include the JRE Version if you report a Java problem

This also happens to me with Java version 2 Version 1.5.0 (build 1.5.0_02-b09). Firefox/1.0.6 does not quit until I use task manager to end the process. It is no longer under the application tab at this point. When I do not end the process I get the profile manager. I am using windows xp home.

Sounds DUP of Bug 275783. According to Bug 275783, problem still remains even after newest Java 1.5.0_04, even though Sun says the problem is fixed by Java bug_id=6255782 which is resolved by Java 1.5.0_04. Sigh... Is it "Sun way"?

*** Bug 287825 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. ***
I have this bug, I was just going to post it, The RAM and CPU usage is usually ok at the beginning, but the longer I play something like Yahoo! Pool, the more RAM and CPU usage it takes up and it laggs a lot so I just close it. Even my music in Winamp keeps freezing because of the usage it is taking up, I think it is something to do with Java, a lot of people have been saying the same things about the on-line java based web messenger aswell. Maybe it's something about Java, or just Yahoo!'s Java. I don't know, I hope someone can fix this soon.

do you still see problem if you use current beta, latest version of all plugins (for example flash v10 - check using about:plugins), java (1.6_0_13), etc started in safe mode https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode - latest beta http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-beta.html
