User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; SunOS sun4u; en-US; rv:1.8b) Gecko/20050228
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; SunOS sun4u; en-US; rv:1.8b) Gecko/20050228

When I change the appearence of the mail navigator window for example by
activating the size column in the pulldown menu, an upper left corner cursor
appears and the pointer seems to be grabbed. Afterwards the machine is
completely unusable and I have to kill mozilla remotely from another machine. I
set the severity to critical, because it makes the workstation unusable.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open the pulldown to change the column visibility in the mail navigator window
2. Change the visibility for example of the Size column

Actual Results:
The pointer is grabbed, the machine hangs and mozilla must be killed remotely.

Expected Results:
(De)Activate the selected column.
Maybe related: Bug 266233
There must be a hundred "drag lock" kind of bugs out there. When the cursor is
seemingly "locked": Hit the escape button once. Any improvement?

Related, filed against mail: bug 177194
Hitting the escape button helps to get back the control over the machine. But
the cursor still displays a sort of paper sheet, which disappears, when the left
mouse button is clicked. The selected menu action is still not performed. With
this workaround you can decrease the severity to major.
