I belive this could be problem only with WIN32 version of Firefox.
In some online webgames there is an option to download all static content
(graphic, etc) to disk and set in preferences URL path to use it instead quering
server. This drasticaly speedup game and reduces load on server.
But unfortunely this thing doesnt work w/ Firefox 1.0.
To see what I mean, just point on URL I specified and follow instructions.

This is intentional (bug 69070) for security reasons, see bug 268778 comment 3.
