Firefox seems to consume all of my CPU when flash content is displayed. I have
the most recent version of Flash plug-in installed, plugin version 7.0 r24 . My
powerbook is a 1.25 Ghz G4 with 768MB of RAM and shouldn't be having these
problems. I'm going to have to switch back to Safari, because I keep losing my
work when I have to force quit firefox. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE fix this problem.
It has plagued Firefox since it's inception and it's totally ruining the
experience for me...

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Go to www.drudgereport.com and wait for it to pop-up an ad window with flash
content.
2. Go to friendster.com and have one of their banners consumer 95% of CPU.
3.

Actual Results:
The activity monitor in Mac OS X shows Firefox consuming 95%-100% of the CPU.

Expected Results:
It shouldn't do that.

Reporter, could you please try a newer build.

I see the same thing happenning with FireFox 1.0.6. After visiting
http://www.timewatch.org/ firefox-bin uses more than 95% of the CPU constantly.
FireFox has AdBlock installed but I can't get far enough to block the Flash app
causing the problem. My system is an Athlon 2200 with Linux version
2.6.12-1.1398_FC4 (bhcompile@tweety.build.redhat.com) (gcc version 4.0.0
20050519 (Red Hat 4.0.0-8)) #1 Fri Jul 15 00:52:32 EDT 2005.
Can I change this to:
Status: Confirmed
Hardware: All
OS: All
???
