It appears that Mozilla Palm Address Book Sync assumes the Palsm desctop
software is installed under c:\Palm and fails (with no warning/error messages)
otherwise. The Palm software does not require this directory location and some
PDAs actually default to other locations. Furthermore, good system admin
suggests putting windows applications under c:\Program Files.

I checked that the registry hack (mentioned in
http://www.mozilla.org/releases/mozilla1.7/installation-extras.html)
was in place and actually refered to the real palm install location.

Uninstalling/reinstalling made no difference. Creating a Windows shortcut as
c:\palm to c:\Program Files\Handspring does serve as a workaround.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install Palm's Desktop software to a location other than c:\Palm
2. Install the Mozilla Palm plugin - it claims to install okay
3. Do a HotSync operation
Actual Results:
All other HotSync tasks succeed, but the mozilla sync does nothing - no
addresses are synchronized and no messages appear in the log on eith Windows or
the PDA

Expected Results:
syncronized the addresses

This bug has had no comments for a long time. Statistically, we have found that
bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are
highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code.

this problem in the latest version of the product (see below for how to obtain a
