Firefox consistently started to hang a few weeks ago whenever I use
'right-click' to 'save pictures as' or 'save link/file as' to desktop. But as of
this week firefox hangs so long it comes up as not responding and crashes with
alarming frequency.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Go to any website with pictures
2. Right click on any picture and select 'save picture as'
3. Watch it hang and fail to save the picture.

Actual Results:  
Firefox did not respond and had to be 'alt-control-delete' shutdown.

Expected Results:  
Instantly saved the picture to desktop.

Do you have extensions installed? Start in safe mode, still the same issue? If
yes, try a new profile

Thanks for your suggestions. I uninstalled extensions, that didn't work, tried
in safe mode, that didn't work. Finally did your final suggestion and just
created a new profile - it worked! Problem solved. Thanks for your handy tips.
I'll keep them to hand if there's a next time.
