Details
First start of Mozilla is slow, because the component, chrome etc. registries have to be built. Bad first impression. Make that part of the installer (so it's clear that it's a one-time task). Easy solution would be to run the apps regxpcom and regchrome. Better might be to call the functions they use, and give a nicer progress UI. Not a problem for tarballs, they can ship with registries (because the set of chosen components is known).

In fact, it's been long fixed. We now do what I asked here.
