Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8b2) Gecko/20050312 Firefox/1.0+ Steps to reproduce: 1. Drag a link from Firefox to Notepad or mIRC. Result: No-drop cursor. Expected: Drop link URL.

Dragging to Win32Pad or MSN Messenger has a different result: the URL is dropped, followed by a line break, followed by the link text. I think just dropping the URL would be more useful.

Isn't this an issue with what those apps look for in the clipboard?

Version 1.6b2 (1.8.1.12pre 2008011814) I dragged a link from this window (the bug link) into the text box in my IRC client "Linkinus" (mac), and it copied the url over.

Whoops, I forgot to mention that was in Camino. I thought it copied over with the version text, but I didn't actually read, just went through the copy paste motions.
