Cf. thread in <de.comm.software.mozilla.browser> starting with

Start Firefox 1.0.
In the menu, call
| Extras -> Erweiterungen
(i.e. "Extensions").
In the following window, three buttons are available:
| Deinstallieren
| Updaten
| Einstellungen
(i.e. Uninstall, Update, Settings).
But there is no button "Installieren" (i.e. install).

Thunderbird 1.0 has such a button, which makes installing extensions in
Thudnerbird easier to a less experienced user.
In the meantime I was told how to install extensions to Firefox, e.g. by drawing
the downloaded extension from a Windows Explorer window to a Firefox window.
But in my opinion, this is no way a less experienced user would find on his own.
I think a button "install" in Firefox (just like it is available in
Thunderbird) will improve the operability, and I kindly ask for such a button in
future Firefox releases.

Reproducible: Always
FF and TB extension manager should be consistent. Confirming bug.

forefox and thunderbird are not the same here. Firefox has a browser from which
you can install, Thunderbird does not.
