User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8b2) Gecko/20050310 Firefox/1.0+ Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8b2) Gecko/20050310 Firefox/1.0+ When in the download manager with a cancelled download, it tries to save the retried document to some random directory (which I happen not to have write access to. In fact, it is the same directory quoted in bug #286007). This bug may be specific to the condition where 'ask me for the destination every time' option is checked under download options. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Begin a download (longish) 2. Cancel the download (be sure clear on cancel isn't on) 3. Retry the download (possibly, the problem won't be obvious if it tries to write to a directory that you often use; try downloading the original file to a somewhat unorthodox destination) Actual Results: A "download error" came up indicating that I did not have write access to the directory in question. Expected Results: It should either have resumed downloading to the directory it was previously assigned to, or prompted me for a directory to download to (either may be equally appropriate in the circumstances).

Confirmed (in part) with Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8b5) Gecko/20050920 Firefox/1.4 The "Actuals Results" is a little bit different from comment #0, when hitting "retry" in the download manager (on a cancelled file) it ask for the path to save the file, the default directory is the last directory I downloaded a file to, not the directory where I choose to download the file I'm retrying.

I'm running 2.0.0.3 Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1.3) Gecko/20070309 Firefox/2.0.0.3 and still get this error if I Start download Cancel it Use the right-click | save as... and choose a different folder In my case, the dowload seems to finish IMMEDIATELY no matter the size of the downloading file. I can't find it anywhere on the disk except in the download manager...

None of the reports here have been with any variant of Firefox 3 (either beta 1, beta 2, or trunk); can any of you reproduce with one of the above? Preferably the latter, which can be found at ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/nightly/latest-trunk/
