Hi there. Installed the new Acrobat 7.0 professional. Now when I try to open a
PDF file on the following web page, the software runs for a while then says
"stopped." Everything freezes and won't respond to key clicks.

http://aviationweather.gov/iffdp/sgwx.shtml

Try to open the PDF to the right of "doc 2105"

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Just go to that web site and try to open the PDF files in the left collum
under "curr"
2.
3.

Actual Results:
Had to restart Firefox.

By the way, I then used IE 6.0 and tried the same thing and the PDF opened
without any problem. so this must be a firefox issue with acrobat 7.0 PRO

Expected Results:
Been opeing this file every time until installed Acrobat 7.0 Professional

I also installed Micro trend antivirus and firewall prior to this problem but I
shut it off (I think) and tried to open the pdf file again - same result.
Meanwhile, opened PDF in IE 6.0 with no problem with Micro Trend antivirus and
firewall operating. Pretty sure this is an Acrobat 7.0 issue and not antivirus
or firewall problem.

This works for me. Same version of FF, same version of Acrobat.
Build: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-GB; rv:1.7.8) Gecko/20050511
Firefox/1.0.4

Viewing a large PDF in FF using Acrobat 7 as a helper app appears to cause the
process identified under task manager as 'firefox' to use 100% of CPU time, and
hang in an unresponsive manor without being identified as not responding.

A user can not close the tab in whihc the PDF is open and has to kill ff from
task manager.

Looks a bit like livelock or busy waiting to me.

This bug has had no comments for a long time. Statistically, we have found that
bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are
highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code.

While your input is very important to us, our resources are limited and so we
are asking for your help in focussing our efforts. If you can still reproduce
this problem in the latest version of the product (see below for how to obtain a
copy) or, for feature requests, if it's not present in the latest version and
you still believe we should implement it, please visit the URL of this bug
(given at the top of this mail) and add a comment to that effect, giving more
reproduction information if you have it.

If it is not a problem any longer, you need take no action. If this bug is not
changed in any way in the next two weeks, it will be automatically resolved.
Thank you for your help in this matter.

This bug still happens "every time." Go to
http://aviationweather.gov/iffdp/sgwx.php and click on any PDF under the "Curr"
column. After loading the PDF use the back arrow, then try to load it again or
go to any other PDF. I t will start downloading then say "stop" at the bottom of
the screen. No more PDFs can be downloaded unles you stop and re start firefox.

I am on version 1.06 by the way
