Deleting one of the spam mail in the spam folder, with mailbox size showing in
folder tree view, the folder size doesn't update automatically.


Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
0.Activate size of mailbox in folder tree view
1.Activate the move to spam folder function.
2.Wait for some spam fill the folder.
3.Select one of it (with preview pane open)
4.Press DEL to delete the mail
5.Look at the size of the mailbox folder
Actual Results:  
The size of mailbox doesn't update automatically.

Expected Results:  
Size of the mailbox get updated automatically.


Workaround: Select another mailbox, and the select again the spam folder, the
size got updated.
This workaround is very boring :-))

opss, probably yes.
I may open a bug for bugzilla pertinent search :-))
Only one dubt: My work around (selecting another mailbox and back) arent speaked
on the other bug.
I will try the compact mailbox.

This is like Bug 211582 invalid because the size does not change until compacting.

I tried the "compact mailbox" suggestion, and it work like my work around.
Seems to me that there are two different work around.
At this point I ask:
Why selecting another mailbox, and selecting back the original mailbox, without
choose "compact mailbox" the size column become updated?
I suspect the underling functionality isn't as you say related to regain
database space.

And more the three column should have the same behavior: or all three show the
logical number/kilobytes of messages (without deleted messages), or all three
show the fisical number/kilobytes of messages (with the deleted messages).
Or this may cause user confusion.
User have the folder property to get the fisical info, space left, and so on, so
the show in folder tree may show the logical info.
What U think?

This happen only with IMAP accounts.

With POP accounts Mozilla suite simply update mailbox size only when you press
compact mailbox.
I presume that spam mailbox in POP account is only in local disk.

I don't have 2.0alpha installed



I tried a lot with WinXP and Linux, happen always, easy riproducible, with all folder on IMAP server, not only spam and draft.


In particular happen when you remove a mail from a mailbox.

Happen also when you move a mail from a mailbox to another. The source mailbox show always the bug, the destination mailbox show the bug ONLY if the email is already readed. If the mail is market NOT readed, the destination mailbox got updated also in the size column.

The workaround of select another mailbox, and come back to the first, always fix the shown size.
