User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0
I exported 661 events from my Outlook 2003 Calendar in iCalendar format using
Outport 1.1.25 (http://outport.sourceforge.net/); this exported each event to a
separate ICS file. When I tried importing one of these ICS files into Mozilla
Calendar (2005011112-cal), it imported fine. When I tried importing multiple
ICS files and selecting "Prompt for each", it imported some (with confirmation
of each from me) and would not export the rest (simply went back to Calendar
window as if it were done); I could not identify a trend in how many it imported
of the total number I selected at once. When I tried importing as "Import all"
(no prompt for each), it seemed to import only one ICS file (event) and then
returned to the Calendar window without importing the rest. I tried each of
these methods with 10, 25, and 50 ICS files and same problem.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Export events from Outlook 2003 Calendar in iCalendar format using Outport
1.1.25 (http://outport.sourceforge.net/)
2. Import multiple (SHIFT-click) of these iCalendar (ICS) files into Mozilla
Calendar using File | Import
Actual Results:
After choosing File | Import, if you try "Import all", it appears that only one
new event is imported and the rest are ignored. If you try "Prompt for each",
only some of the ICS files (events) you selected are prompted for import and the
rest are ignored (can't identify how many). It seems to correctly identify how
many of the events are duplicates to events already in your Calendar.
Expected Results:
Using "Import all" or "Prompt for each", all the new events should be imported
successfully. If there's a limit to the number of ICS files the Calendar can
import at once, it should be displayed in the Select File(s) dialog or in an
error message after you try to import.
Using Firefox 1.0 with Calendar 0.8.3+.
By preventing the proper import of calendar files, this bug is preventing me
from fully migrating from Microsoft Outlook 2003 to Mozilla Calendar for
managing my appointments. The smoother Mozilla makes this transition for users
(Outlook Calednar export utility, Mozilla Calendar import utility/feature), the
more users would gladly switch!

Nominating for marking INVALID. With Sunbird 0.4a1 you can only import single ICS files.
