"<A href="../ppts/VB Chapter01.ppt">01</A>&nbsp;" works in IE and FireFox
"<A href="..\ppts\VB Chapter01.ppt">01</A>&nbsp;" works in IE but NOT FireFox

This may only be a misunderstanding of the standard on my part or another of
those situations where MicroSoft allows many different ways to do the same thing.
In either case, it might be good to allow both or to generate a more specific
error report than a simple 404.

Definately invalid. "\" is not used as separator in HTTP URL.
