When clicking through the "subscribe to..." interface on the status bar, the
default value for the bookmark name is the contents of the current page's title
tag. It should instead be the title attribute of the originating link tag,
matching the subscribe to..  description.

LiveJournal's <link> title is "Atom", Movable Type's default titles are "Atom",
"RSS 1.0" and "RSS 2.0", WordPress's defaults are "Atom 0.3", "RSS 2.0" and "RSS
.92". That's somewhere in the neighborhood of 3 or 4 million feeds where it
would be a huge step backward.

I absolutely agree with you, this is definitly a big bug. It would be great if
this will be fixed, it should not be much work to change this.

Phil Ringnalda has a point. Bug 251447 contains interesting proposals to solve the problem. The proposal in this bug won't work, though.

Setting as WONTFIX, then.

really, unless you're part of the dev team, you shouldn't be marking bugs as WONTFIX.

That said, it was the right call.
